Bredeweg, Amsterdam, NL
Interior design for a private residence in Amsterdam East. The upper floor of this residence is totally stripped to create an open plan layout that accommodates temporary living for expats. All structural walls are removed and new conical skylights are added to maximise daylight penetrating the interior space. All elementary functions are integrated in stand-alone modules that are finished with beton ciré – a waxed concrete with a tactile marbled finish that is fully waterproof. The bedroom-module can be rotated and repositioned in the space, offering the user control over levels of privacy and interaction.
